And the LORD turned to him and said, "Go in this might of yours and save Israel from the hand of Midian; do not I send you?"
Judges 6:14

The Lord turned to him. What a look the Lord gave to Gideon when he turned toward him! He "turned" him out of his discouragements into a holy bravery. If turning to the Lord saves us, what will his turning to us do? Lord, turn to me this day, and embolden me for its duties and conflicts.
What a word was this that the Lord spoke to Gideon! "Go." He must not hesitate. He might have answered, "What, go in all this weakness?" But the Lord ruled that word out by saying, "Go in this might of yours." The turning of the Lord had brought might to Gideon, and he had now nothing to do but use it and save Israel by striking the Midianites. It may be that the Lord has more to do by me than I ever dreamed of. If he has turned to me, then he has made me strong. Let me by faith exercise the power with which he has entrusted me. He never exhorts me to waste my time in this my might. Far from it. I must "go," because he strengthens me.
What a question the Lord puts to me just as he put it to Gideon! "Do not I send you?" Yes, Lord, you have sent me, and I will go in your strength. At your command I go, and, going, I am assured that you will conquer through me.

Guarding Your Heart

God is after your heart, not just your obedience. Through Jesus, we've received a new heart—the old is gone! Guard it daily. When you mess up, don't camp in condemnation.

Say "Thank you Jesus for transforming my heart." You're a new creation. Walk in that identity.

The Heart God Desires
Reading: Ezekiel 36:25-27; Proverbs 4:23

God's greatest desire has always been our hearts, not merely our outward obedience.

Throughout Israel's history, He pursued His people with relentless love, longing for genuine devotion rather than religious performance. Today, examine what occupies the center of your heart. Are there areas of hardness, unforgiveness, or bitterness that need God's touch? The beautiful promise is that God doesn't just demand a changed heart—He gives us one. Through Christ, you've received a new heart with His Spirit dwelling within. This isn't about trying harder; it's about surrendering deeper. Ask God to search your heart today and remove anything that doesn't reflect His nature. Guard this precious gift He's placed within you.

Reflection: What areas of your heart need God's transforming touch today?
