From school-era passion to 56+ permanent local jobs 🌟

We recently caught up with Branden Tier, a standout alumnus from our 2017 Waste4Change programme in De Aar.

When Branden first started out, he had a strong drive for recycling but lacked the formal business structures to scale it.

Through Waste4Change, Angels stepped in to help bridge the gap, assisting with his CIPC registration, financial training, and securing the business’ very first operational vehicle.

Today, his business, Pixley YARD and recycling services, is a burgeoning powerhouse. His team now services 35+ residential clients, manages site clearance contracts for major regional solar plants, and even runs a community hub offering free or low-cost admin services to locals.

While we have to highlight Branden’s own perseverance, dedication and willpower as the strongest factors behind his success, we are immensely proud to have been a part of Pixley YARD’s origin story.

To Branden: Watching your solo ambition scale into a thriving multi-service enterprise that feeds dozens of families is the ultimate reward. This is truly why we do what we do. Thank you for proving what is possible when local talent meets the right tools and support.
