ICASA, led by Councillor Sithole and CEO Tshiamo Maluleka-Disemelo, participated in the week-long World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum 2026, joining regulators, policymakers, industry leaders and international organisations to advance discussions on digital transformation and the future of digital regulation.

During the week, Cllr Sithole participated in the Heads of Regulators Roundtable on “Putting Governance Essentials into Practice”, where global regulators explored practical approaches to balancing innovation, investment and consumer protection, strengthening evidence-based decision-making and advancing adaptive regulation. The discussions will contribute to the development of the Actionable Core Toolkit (ACT), aimed at supporting the implementation of modern digital governance.

On the sidelines of the Forum, they held bilateral engagements with representatives of the Greek Ministry of Digital Governance and the Hellenic Telecommunications and Post Commission (EETT), as well as the Communications Regulatory Authority - BOCRA.

The engagements focused on strengthening regulatory cooperation, exchanging views on matters of mutual interest and discussing the respective candidatures for the ITU Council ahead of PP-26.
