She was still in her pyjamas when she ran from her house and chased two men through the streets of Rondebosch.

💔They were beating a cart horse for not moving fast enough. One of them swung the whip at her too. She kept going anyway. 👊

Nearly two years later, that horse has its justice. Both men appeared in the Wynberg Magistrates' Court this month and pleaded guilty to animal cruelty.

📢The magistrate handed down the maximum sentence the Animals Protection Act allows.

One person refused to look away. Because she didn't, a suffering animal was rescued and two offenders were held to account.
