This edition features Morena Leraba, the globally acclaimed Lesotho artist redefining traditional Sesotho and Famo music through hypnotic live performances and genre-blending soundscapes.

Rooted in the mountains of Lesotho and shaped by life in Johannesburg, Morena Leraba’s music tells stories of migration, spirituality, resilience, and identity. With collaborations alongside artists like Major Lazer, Moonchild Sanelly, and Damon Albarn, plus his acclaimed debut EP Fela sa Ha Mojela, he has become one of Africa’s most compelling contemporary voices.

We’re reopening and stepping into an exciting new chapter at our new home — the rooftop of BlackBrick Gardens Hotel. Elevated, intimate, and effortlessly soulful,
Selective Live returns as your go-to Sunday experience where music, culture, and sunset summers meet.

Def Eff (short for Definitely Efficient) is a Cape Town–based performance artist, lyricist and sonic curator. His work lives at the intersection of hip-hop, jazz and live experience.

Rooted in sharp wordplay and layered musicality, his practice extends beyond recording. It moves into embodied storytelling, where rhythm, language and presence converge.

Known for his commanding stage presence and emotionally resonant delivery, Def Eff crafts performances that move between intensity and introspection. Backed by a live jazz band, his shows dissolve the boundaries of traditional hip-hop. Each set becomes a dynamic, genre-blending composition that honours the culture while expanding its possibilities.

Originally from Mthatha in the Eastern Cape, he relocated to Cape Town in 2005 to study film. This influence continues to shape his cinematic approach to music and performance. His work explores themes of love, identity and the human condition. It is delivered with a maturity that resonates across generations and cultural backgrounds.

BORN AND RAISED IN CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA, LIBØ IS A VOCALIST, SINGER-SONGWRITER AND A GUITARIST.
HE IS A VERSATILE ARTIST WHO PLAYS AROUND WITH DIFFERENT SOUNDS, MAKING IT HARD TO CATEGORISE HIM
IN A GENRE BUT OFTEN MAGIC IS CREATED.

HE’S CURRENTLY AN UNDERGRAD STUDENT AT SOUTH AFRICAN
COLLEGE OF MUSIC STUDYING JAZZ. HE’S BEEN A PART OF THE DISTRICT SIX MUSICAL AND A CAST MEMBER
PLAYING ONE OF THE LEAD ROLE OF DAMAKA.

HE HAS GRACED THE STAGES OF THE BAXTER THEATRE, ATHLETIC CLUB & SOCIAL, THE ARTSCAPE, SELECTIVE
LIVE, STAGES AROUND SWITZERLAND AND JUST FINISHED A SHOW AT KAYA CAFE. HE MADE HIS FIRST PROJECT
IN 2023 CALLED ‘SONDELA’ WHICH IS 3 TRACK EP THAT INCLUDED HIS RELATIVELY SUCCESSFUL SINGLES
KHANGELA WENA & SONDELA. AND RECENTLY RELEASED HIS SINGLE ‘NJENA’
