Spier Arts Trust recently opened REVISITING, a solo exhibition by at The HUB Gallery.
This powerful new body of work brings together paintings, mosaic-inspired compositions, cultural masks, and sonic references that fluidly move across artistic mediums. Drawing from rich visual and musical archives, Muchatuta explores how memory, spirituality, and cultural knowledge are carried, transformed, and reimagined over time.
Through layered surfaces, symbolic forms, and rhythms that echo across both sound and image, Revisiting considers the archive as a living space—one that continues to shape contemporary African identity and experience. Viewers are invited into a profound dialogue between what is inherited and what is created, tracing deep journeys through painting, sound, and memory.
