With fast approaching, I’ve selected a number of natural mark and stitch piece that I’ll exhibit as part of a group exhibition with fellow artists Laurel Holmes and Jenny Chadwick.

These pieces were made over the course of the year, and record momentary or longstanding thoughts. I hope you’ll join us for an intimate exhibition of woodcut, ceramics, paintings and related works that celebrate our connection with the space that we find ourselves.

runs from Friday 29 November until Sunday 1 December from 10-5 daily. No tickets needed. Details on the page.

Print 1/15May24

First of the large textile pieces printed after quite a long break away from this alternative print technique. Natural mark printed directly off locally foraged foliage. No ink. No dye. No powders. Just a natural mordant made from rusted objects, and the pigment innate in the cells of the foliage printed. This is a monotype print. Only one print off the matrix.

Note that this cloth is folded so the image with hanging cloth is half of the print. The print is fixed and this h**p linen cloth has been laundered and is ready for something special. I’ll leave its next life up to - creative, artist, dressmaker.

Layered | An exhibition uninstalled

Sometimes the process and byproduct is just as complex and meaningful as the intended piece (or more so). And in this case it also deserves recognition. After all, we say that life is about the journey. Isn’t it the same for art? Or is it only the magical finished product that was made with unknown skill and technique, that has value?

I’ve always felt that my isolation cloths warrant an exhibition. An installation of layered cloths, laden with natural pigment and the journey we’ve travelled. Tattered and torn edges. So this is it.

“Layered”
An installation in my garden
One day only
Sorry no visitors

I have taken the trouble to document my exhibition with these photographs, and I will follow with a video for those who are interested. Enjoy!

And again. Perhaps this is it.
