Minister John Steenhuisen, We respectfully ask that you honour the commitments made at the last Foot-and-Mouth Disease meeting. Every hour of delay matters. Animals continue to suffer and die while we wait for blood samples to be sent to The Pirbright Institute and for vaccines to be signed off and released. These are not abstract delays — they translate directly into animal welfare crises, lost livelihoods, and growing food insecurity. Farmers have complied. Veterinarians have complied. Industry has complied. We now ask, respectfully but urgently, that government does the same. Please provide clear proof that: • Blood samples have been dispatched to Pirbright, and • Vaccine approvals have been signed and actioned as promised. Transparency builds trust. Action saves animals, jobs, and businesses. We are not asking for favours — only for follow-through on commitments already made.
