In 2008, Pepsi quietly launched one of the most infamous logo rebrands in design history. Created by the Arnell Group, the updated Pepsi globe looked like a minor tweak, but the internal explanation was anything but. A leaked 27-page document claimed the logo was inspired by the Earth’s gravitational field, the Golden Ratio, human facial expressions, and even the tilt of the planet’s axis. Designers quickly noticed the math didn’t add up. What became legendary wasn’t the logo itself, but the overblown narrative used to justify it.

What are your thoughts?

Domain Name
What it is: Your unique, memorable address on the internet (e.g., yourcompany.com).
Purpose: Helps users find and remember your site easily.
Cost: Typically paid annually.
Web Hosting
What it is: Renting space on a powerful computer (server) that's always connected to the internet.
Purpose: Stores all your website's files (text, images, code) and makes them available online.
Types: Options range from shared hosting (cheaper, for smaller sites) to VPS, cloud, or dedicated servers (more powerful, for larger sites).
How they work together
You register a domain name.
You purchase a web hosting plan.
You "point" your domain name to your web host's server (often through DNS settings).
When someone types your domain into a browser, the domain system directs them to your hosting server, which delivers your website's content.
Key takeaway
You need both for a website to exist online.
Buying them together often includes benefits like a free domain, SSL certificates (for security), and website builders.
DM if you need quote on the best hosting plan for ur business website.

Let me be honest with you…
Many designers are still struggling with large format printing because nobody explained the real basics to them.

And it’s not their fault — most designers were taught only screen design, not print.

Last week again, I received files that were good for social media but terrible for banner printing.

So let me help you avoid stress.

Here are the major mistakes designers make when preparing files for large format printing:

1. Using low-resolution images

Your design may look sharp on your laptop…

But once we stretch it to 8ft, 10ft, or 20ft, everything exposes itself.

Always use high-quality images for anything large format.

2. Forgetting to convert fonts to curves/outlines

If the printing computer doesn’t have your font, it will automatically change it.

And it will spoil your design.

Save yourself embarrassment — always convert to curves.

3. Designing in RGB without understanding how large format works

Let me explain this clearly…

Large Format Machines are digital printers, so they can still print RGB files without issues.

But the main problem is color expectations.

What you see on your screen (RGB light) may not match exactly with printed output.

So if you must use RGB, keep your colors simple and avoid overly bright neon shades that printers cannot produce.

Just understand how the machine interprets color, that is the real key.

4. Sending too many file formats instead of one clean export

Some designers will send PNG, PDF, AI, PSD, and then start converting fonts.

You don’t need all that stress.

For large format printing, a high-quality JPEG export is enough, once the JPEG is exported in maximum quality, it will still maintain good resolution when enlarged.

Clean. Simple. Professional.

5. Designing in the wrong dimensions

This one causes the biggest problem.

If your final print is 10ft × 20ft, your design should be in a proportional dimension so that when we convert it to feet, it won’t stretch or distort.

For example:

Design it in inches or centimeters but using the exact ratio of the final size.

That way, when we scale to feet, everything remains sharp and aligned.

When you understand these things, your printing jobs will always come out clean.

No blurry banner.

No color shock.

No stretched design.

This is the knowledge that makes clients respect you as a designer and trust your work.
