Rescuers Return a Group of Rare Skunks to the Wild with Release in California A group of rare western spotted skunks was rehabilitated at San Diego Humane Society’s Ramona Wildlife Center and released into a remote area in California.

I've become very attached to this Doberman we flew to Shirley Zindler at Dogwood Animal Rescue Project. Believe it or not she looks better than when I picked her up in Visalia!

Our girl had good first night with us. She’s in terrible shape but we’re working with our vets and she has already started treatment to hopefully restore her to good health.

Thank you so much to our pilots Ken and Lou, with Flying Tails and to our awesome rockstar dog rescuer Ketrina, who got our emaciated Dobie caught and safe at 3:30 in the morning when nobody else could, and to Jennifer and everyone who helped this precious girl make her way to safety at Dogwood.

This emaciated Doberman was seen occasionally in a rural area for approximately 3 months but was too afraid to be caught. She’s now so emaciated and weak that she began approaching humans a little closer and someone took photos and made a post. Rescue angels went looking but she was gone. One finally located her but still couldn’t get her. They went back at 3:30am, when all was quiet and set a trap. Finally she went in.

Dogs this emaciated are sometimes already in organ failure and it’s critical to begin a very slow refeeding program as rapid refeeding can actually overwhelm their system. She’s weighs just 30 pounds, probably 20 pounds underweight, and is being treated for mange, diarrhea, malnutrition etc. we’re guessing her at around a year of age.
