The project focuses on the “Doda” family house in Prizren, a protected monument within the League of Prizren Complex.
The Doda family house is of great cultural and architectural significance, serving as one of the most representative examples of residential architecture from the 19th–20th centuries. It is located in the Historic Centre of Prizren, within the monumental complex of the League of Prizren.
The Doda family house, which is nearly 100 years old, has undergone various changes and interventions over different periods of time.

DUSHI HOUSE

This modern house design features a clean and simple shape with a thoughtful mix of materials like stone, wood, and smooth white plaster. Large windows on both floors allow plenty of natural light to fill the interior while also offering wide views of the green outdoor space. The ground floor is wrapped in stone, giving the home a grounded and warm feeling, while the upper level adds contrast with sleek white walls and wood details. A spacious yard with soft lighting, shrubs, and a seating area enhances the comfort and calmness of the home.
At the back of the house, tall vertical windows and minimal landscaping create a quiet, private corner that feels closely connected to nature. The path leading to this area is clean and simple, bordered by soft grass and a few trees that add life and shade. The design as a whole creates a peaceful, modern home that blends comfort, nature, and style.

HOTI HOUSE

This urban residence is a modern single-family home designed with a clean, geometric aestheticand strong spatial functionality. Located in a compact urban context, the house balancesprivacy, openness, and elegance through smart volumetric design and strategic placement ofopenings.The facade combines white plaster with dark window frames and a base of exposed brick,creating a visually balanced and contemporary character. Large windows at the ground levelsuggest the presence of a café, studio, or gallery, adding vibrancy to the street. Upper floors areresidential, with elegant balconies and framed windows that create rhythm and depth. Therenovation successfully merges tradition and innovation, respecting the compact urban contextwhile revitalizing the structure with a fresh architectural identity.
The proposed renovation introduces a significant transformation. The building massing has beenextended vertically and horizontally to maximize the use of space, while still respecting thesurrounding urban morphology. The pitched roof is replaced with a flat one, allowing for theaddition of a rooftop terrace. The facade becomes more defined and contemporary, with clearergeometric volumes and a better relationship with the street level. Interior circulation isreconfigured, and the street-facing ground floor is opened up—likely intended for commercial orpublic use, offering a more engaging interface with the city. Private residential spaces are shiftedto the upper floors, incorporating balconies and terraces for outdoor living.
