Prishtina celebrated its friendship and affection for the United States of America 🇺🇸🇽🇰throughout this week, culminating in a wonderful celebration last night in the city centre alongside our Chargé d’Affaires, Anu Prattipati, and many American friends.

When I think of America, I think of some of the most wholesome, creative, jovial, hardworking, innovative, kind, generous, and genuinely lovable people I’ve ever known.

Americans have enriched the world through education, science, literature, sports, medicine, culture, technology, art, music, and countless acts of service and generosity.

I often think of my grandparents Leka and Pashka, who immigrated to the United States from Montenegro in search of a better future for their family. America gave generations of our family opportunity, and for that, I will always be grateful.

On the Fourth of July, I celebrate the American people—the spirit of independence, opportunity, and hope that has inspired 250 years.

Yesterday, we thanked Major General Giovanni Pietro Barbano for his service and leadership as Head of EULEX Kosova🇽🇰

In his role, General Barbano has led the European Union’s Rule of Law Mission, supporting and advising Kosova’s justice institutions, police, and customs authorities, and strengthening accountability, professionalism, and the rule of law in line with European standards.

In the presence of the diplomatic community, we expressed our sincere gratitude for his service.

We also extend our appreciation to General Barbano’s wonderful and supportive partner, Rosanna Barbano. Her gracious presence, and warm engagement with local communities have been deeply valued.
