Last week, students from one of our Ho Chi Minh City-based schools embarked on an impactful week-long service trip to Cuc Phuong National Park, working alongside our long-term conservation partners. πππ¦

β’ At the Endangered Primate Rescue Center, Vietnam students gained essential hands-on skills in measurement and carpentry while constructing fence panels, followed by practical painting work. This exposure connected them directly to practical applications of STEM principles in a conservation context.
β’ At the Deer and Bird Sanctuary, students fully immersed themselves in the work of conservation keepers. They learned to sow grass, use basic farming tools, and took on the essential task of cleaning cages for Indian and Vietnamese peacocks and Silver pheasants. They also experienced a powerful moment of connection by hand-feeding Samba deer. These activities fostered a strong sense of teamwork, responsibility, and empathy for wildlife.
β’ The week culminated in a breathtaking highlight: assisting with the release of a Crested Serpent Eagle π¦
. Students watched as the magnificent bird flapped its way back into the wild after being rehabilitated at the center. Witnessing this incredible moment firsthand offered a lesson in the tangible, rewarding outcomes of wildlife conservation efforts.
The entire week provided on-the-ground understanding of wildlife conservation, developing practical skills, fostering personal growth, and offering students a memory of direct contribution to the natural world.
Huge well done to all the students and thank you to our partners for giving them the opportunity to be involved!
