🇯🇲🇨🇦 We recently had the pleasure of welcoming Jamaican-Canadian artist Janice Garel to our Creative Arts Centre for a special one-day silk painting workshop inspired by the vibrant island beauty of Bequia. 🌺🦋🌼

During this hands-on session, participants were introduced to the French Gutta Serti technique, a traditional silk painting method that combines precision and color. Designs were first developed on paper before being carefully transferred onto silk, allowing participants to transform their artistic ideas into beautiful textile artworks. 🎨

🖌️The workshop provided a wonderful opportunity for learning, creative expression and cultural exchange, with each participant producing a unique piece inspired by the natural beauty that surrounds us. 🪷

A heartfelt thank you to Janice for sharing her expertise and passion with our community. We look forward to hosting more dynamic workshops like this in the future as we continue to explore new artistic techniques. ✨

We are pleased to share this invitation from Maureen St. Clair of The People’s Listening Project. Maureen has collaborated with us over the years, and it is always a joy to witness the spaces she holds with such care.

In connection with our Healing Together initiative, we recognise the importance of spaces like these to support healing, connection, and emotional wellbeing across our communities.

“We are Circling Online once again, a gathering of old and new friends exploring the Art of Being Human through compassionate communication. Come share, listen, and express the full medley of emotions: grief, sorrow, joy, rage, confusion, love through these relentless, shaky times.”

🗓️ Thursday, May 14
⏰ 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM EST / AST

We’re expanding our FREE 1-on-1 counselling sessions! 💬✨

Access virtual support from psychologists, social workers and mental health counsellors from across St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

These sessions are open to:
•Individuals who have participated in our programs
•Anyone across the Grenadines in need of support
•Persons currently living in St. Vincent who are originally from the Grenadines (including those who relocated after Hurricane Beryl)

Healing Together creates sustainable, culturally grounded, and locally-led psychosocial care across the Grenadines. Our goal is to make mental health support accessible for everyone, through programmes rooted in creativity, care and solidarity.

Counselling sessions under this current phase are generously funded by Grenadines Initiative.
