Town offices opened at 10 a.m. today. Parks and Recreation facilities will close at 5 p.m., and all evening programs are canceled.
As of Tuesday morning, January 27, the Town of Zebulon has concluded emergency operations related to the recent winter weather event.
The State of Emergency declared in coordination with Wake County has officially ended.
Conditions across town have continued to improve. Roads are mostly clear, though residents should remain alert for isolated patches of ice and black ice, especially in shaded areas.
There have been no reported injuries, power outages, or significant roadway issues associated with this event.
The Town’s Emergency Operations Center is deactivating following this final assessment.
We sincerely thank our Police, Fire, Public Works, Technology, Parks and Recreation, and Communications teams, along with our regional partners, for their continued coordination and dedication to keeping the community safe.

Due to the impending winter storm, Wake County has issued a Proclamation of a State of Emergency to support preparedness and response efforts.
The Town of Zebulon is included in the Wake County State of Emergency by request of its governing body, as provided for in the proclamation, allowing for coordinated emergency response efforts, resource sharing, and implementation of applicable emergency measures.
Town departments and partner agencies are coordinating resources and preparing for potential impacts, including hazardous road conditions, power outages, and other winter weather concerns. Public safety and public works teams are staged and ready to respond as conditions change.
The safety of residents remains the Town’s top priority. Community members are encouraged to limit travel when possible, especially during periods of ice and freezing conditions, to allow emergency and utility crews to operate safely.
Residents should avoid downed power lines and remain alert for localized flooding as snow and ice melt. If your power goes out, please contact your electric service provider to report the outage.
The Town has created an Inclement Weather FAQ page and will continue sharing updates through the Town’s website and official social media channels. Please follow these platforms for the most up-to-date information regarding Town operations, delays, closures, or event cancellations.
