LIFE SUCKAGE AND SOCIAL MEDIA
I really don’t know how some young people or digital natives do it. They are exposed to instant and constant peer group pressure, with this type of social evaluation my guess is a lot of us digital adapters potentially might have had different lives. Fortunately for them, it is a world they have been born into. Sitting alone in a dark room with access to over 1,000 friends, or connections on social media has the potential to be a volatile double edged sword. On one hand, seeing what everyone is doing is interesting and if your life experiences are significant enough to classify and contextualize this fast stream of information, it can be a lot of fun. However, if you haven’t accumulated enough life experiences to understand the hyper fast information delivery, this UX could be very psychologically depressing. Recently, I sat with some digital natives on the evening of a Taylor Swift concert, she was doing a series of shows in our area and the TS show was the place to be. The group I was sitting with all ........click to continue reading https://www.myjobbridge.net/?p=465

Companies are missing opportunities for growth and revenue because they don't understand the impact of human nature in the workplace. New technology can be used to reduce workforce, however smart companies are learning that combining new technology with star employees can lead to increased EPS. Decreasing and under-performing stock prices can usually be easily tracked and attributed to poor company culture, disengaged managers, and cost reducing consolidation resulting in the loss of star employees. The key here is the star employee.
Now the good news, according to a recent Gallup poll, the negative trend line can absolutely be reversed by what Gallup is calling the additive effect, but you need to bring back the star employee or the great manager to work the plan. In its report Gallup states “The term additive effect, which comes from biological and chemical research, refers to combining multiple elements so that the results equal the sum of each element's effects. In other words, each element plays a unique role and has an added scientific value in predicting the outcome. Elements that aren't additive don't matter, work against the intended outcome or are redundant, leading to wasted time and resources." While Gallup found that less than 1 percent of companies actually monitor or implement all the variable elements, it was able to put a potential revenue percentage increase next to each additive element. When seeking employment look for the 4 elements, does the company have great managers, talented employees, engaged workforce and focus on strengths? I realize this is a wish, list but but try to research the company on line and see if you can get a feel for company culture. Good hunting.
