There is no easy way to share that today we unexpectedly lost our incredible friend and teammate, Wizard, to a strangulation lipoma. We are devastated, in shock, and heartbroken.

As you know, Wizard was a care lease from the wonderful Ms Faith, and she penned the words I couldn’t even begin to come up with to memorialize him in such a beautiful way that I wanted to reshare here:

In Loving Memory of “Wizard” (Aces, Straights and Flushes)

1996 – 7/07/2026

In 2003, fortune smiled upon us when a remarkable Missouri Fox Trotter entered our lives. Registered as “Aces, Straights and Flushes,” he was known simply, and perfectly, as Wizard around the farm. True to his name, he brought a sense of magic to everyone who knew him, possessing more talent in a single hoof than most horses achieve in a lifetime.
Wizard was truly a well rounded horse. Throughout his illustrious 30 years on this earth, he conquered nearly every discipline he touched. He was a speed horse, a hunter, a saddle seat champion, a showmanship star, a Western and traditional dressage champion, and a competitive trail horse, to name just a few. Yet, for all his competitive accolades, perhaps his greatest legacy was as a patient, beloved lesson horse. Over his lifetime, Wizard safely and generously carried hundreds of students, instilling a lifelong love of riding in generations of horse lovers.
While he was near perfect, Wizard was also wonderfully quirky. He was a cribber, managed anhidrosis in the Florida heat, and kept us all on our toes with his entirely irrational, hilarious fears of grasshoppers, butterflies, and the occasional “ninja deer.” These flaws only made him more endearing.
Wizard presence will be missed on the farm, but his legacy will live on in our hearts. He leaves behind countless tears because he is gone, but infinitely more hearts that are fuller because they knew him. Thank you, Wizard, for the magic, the lessons, and 23 years of unforgettable memories. Rest easy, big guy, you have earned your wings. ❤️

This year, on October 24th from 4-6 pm, we want you to join us for an inclusive trick or treat event! Come see our horses dressed up in their Halloween costumes, trick or treat around the paddocks, and then stop by and see all the big rigs for more trick or treat Trail Rat fun! Vote for your favorites in our highly competitive costume contests and help us raise funds that support the farm and our riders all year long!
