Small Business Beware!
It has come to our attention their is a nationwide scam to extort money from small businesses by creating false one star reviews left on your google profile in an attempt to extort money and exchange for removal of fake reviews. We were hit this morning by 2 one star reviews created by fake accounts. Upon investigating these reviews we have found a dozen local roofing contractors, carpet installers and junk removal companies that have received the same reviews almost word for word. It appears that they left all these reviews within a 10 minute period.
The New York Times wrote a story concerning this matter that small businesses should be aware and should also check their business reviews often in order to have them flagged by Google.
Also states they appear to be coming from Bangladesh.
We have reported these false reviews to Google and hope to have this issue resolved and the fake reviews removed by the end of the day.
