Tomorrow night we kick off the first stop of the THOP Tour

Since 2017, has been building a space for independent artists and real hip hop culture and this year they’re taking it on the road.

I’ll be performing as part of the artist competition alongside other incredible talent from the region, we’re all competing for a chance to perform at this year’s festival and represent on stage this fall.

The tour is headlined by and two artists who have consistently put on for independent music and community. Honored to be part of the first event of the tour this year.

to the Afroman concert a couple weeks back. For those of you that don’t know I’ve been a full time caregiver for my mother for over 5 years and it is such a gift that she loves music the way she does and that she is always down for whatever. She lives with younger onset dementia and music is a great area for connection. This year we have changed her meds and it has made her more interactive and finding more excitement with things. It was great to see her be able to sing “Lemon Poundcake” because it has the same melody as The Drifter’s song “Under the Boardwalk”. And also great to see her be able to pick up on the choruses of a few other songs, probably because she heard me listening to them in high school. During the show my mom was asked if she was enjoying the music, and as she clapped and danced she said straight faced “not really” and kept on vibing. Thankful she is such a good sport and honest as always 😆

I swear since I’ve been collecting vinyl this year, I’ve been coming across all these gems that are important to me personally. Today I was able to pick up the record store day release of ‘s cult classic “grown up”.
