Past and present SCROUNGE (𝙎𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙪𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙍𝙚𝙘𝙮𝙘𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙊𝙪𝙩𝙛𝙞𝙩 𝙐𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙧𝙚𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙉𝙤𝙣𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙛𝙞𝙩 𝙂𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙥𝙨 𝙞𝙣 𝙀𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣) leadership recently gathered at Penn State York to celebrate the organization's 30th anniversary.

Shining a light on prevention.

Students in Penn State York’s Health and Human Development Division, led by Dr. Jennie Dilworth, adjunct instructor, hosted a program and candlelight vigil this April focused on child abuse and neglect prevention.

During the event, Dilworth recognized the efforts of each student. All participated in various ways, collectively planning and implementing the event to raise public awareness.

“These students didn’t just learn about the issue—they took action,” Dilworth said. “Their work reflects a deep commitment to raising awareness and supporting children and families in our community.”

This annual tradition, led by Human Development and Family Studies students since 2011, reflects the power of education in action.
