Probate fact of the day: if the Probate Court commits a person with an intellectual disability to treatment, the parties to that action can appeal to Circuit Court and "a trial de novo WITH A JURY must be held in the same manner as in civil actions unless the petitioner through his attorney waiver his right to a jury trial" (emphasis added) per 44-20-450.

There are maybe two other actions that on appeal are entitled to a de novel jury trial, so this is unique!

Here are SOME scenes from the campaign... thinking back on it all, the thing I am MOST thankful for is that Mark was not in that smashed up truck when it got smashed up by a driver running off the road during sign installation. God preserved his life.

I want to thank the voters of York County for entrusting me to be their next elected Probate Judge. I am deeply thankful for the advice and sacrifices of my committee, family, friends, and supporters- more deeply thankful than I can ever express.

Whether you voted for me or not, please pray for me as I assume the position January 1st that God will give me wisdom and the ability to serve you well.

I will post some photos from the campaign trail shortly! York is a big and vibrant county and I was blessed to get to see so many parts of it and so many people of the last few months.

I loved campaiging- my absolute FAVORITE part was to get to meet York County citizens with questions! My least favorite part of campaiging was running against a fine man/lawyer/Christian, and I do want his friends and family to be assured of my continuing respect for him and you all.

Results are not in, and while we wait I just want to thank the best team of supporters ever.
