🦆🚒 A Happy Ending for One Little Duckling! 🚒🦆
Today, Wylie Fire Rescue responded to an unusual rescue call when a baby duck became trapped in a storm drain and was unable to get back to its family. Our crews quickly went to work, safely retrieving the duckling and reuniting it with its very patient mother nearby.
While no two calls are ever the same, we’re always happy to help—whether it’s a person, a pet, or a tiny feathered friend in need.
A little teamwork, a little compassion, and one very happy duck family made for a great day in Wylie! 💚🦆

Our commitment to providing the highest level of service to our community includes continuous training and professional development.
This week, several members of Wylie Fire Rescue participated in the Dive Rescue 1 course presented by Dive Rescue International. This intensive training program focuses on the fundamentals of public safety diving, including search techniques, rescue operations, risk management, and underwater emergency response.
Through realistic scenarios and hands-on instruction, our personnel enhanced the specialized skills needed to safely and effectively conduct water rescue operations. Training like this ensures our crews are prepared to respond when emergencies occur in and around the water.
We are proud of our members for their dedication to expanding their knowledge and capabilities in order to better serve the citizens of Wylie.

Wylie Fire Rescue is proud to congratulate Jacob Padilla and Jacob Pryor on their graduation from Paramedic School!
Also they have both already taken the next big step by successfully passing their National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) Paramedic Exams, demonstrating their dedication, knowledge, and commitment to providing the highest level of care to our community.
This achievement represents countless hours of training, hard work, and perseverance. We are proud to have them serving the City of Wylie and know they will continue to make a difference every day.
