Mount Wachusett is always a pleasure to hike—great views, fresh air, and plenty of good people to meet along the way.
Even had an impromptu meeting with Jeff Crowley from the balcony while getting ready for the Pay It Forward Card Show this Sunday, July 19th.
Always spreading love throughout the hobby, passing out cards, and connecting with people wherever the road takes me.
The Road Dog is always on the move. 🐕⛰️💥
Funny how life works. 🤷🏼♂️
My family met Bob Lamey and his wife Kim at Yankees spring training in Tampa. Bob was the longtime voice of the Indy Colts at the time. We were sitting next to each other, started talking and became friends. Pretty simple.
From that chance meeting, Bob invited my family to Lucas Oil Stadium in Indy and always welcomed us with open arms. That’s how I ended up getting a few words with Colts commentator Jeff Sorgi, who played QB for the Colts and the University of Wisconsin.
I’ve interviewed dozens of professional athletes over the years and always tried to get a few nuggets I could bring back to the kids. What did it take ATHLETICALLY and SCHOLASTICALLY along their journey?
I also asked Jeff to share a few words about the times when things weren’t going well. Because that’s part of the journey too. Everyone sees the uniform, the stadium and the bright lights. They don’t always see the setbacks, the frustration, the hard days and the work it takes to keep moving forward.
Jeff was kind enough to take a few minutes with me up in the broadcast booth and share some words I could bring home to the kids.
Long before Pay It Forward Card Shows, this is how the Dog rolled. 🐕 Give the gift away that was given to you.
ALL ABOUT THE KIDS. Change my mind. 😈🏈💥✌🏻
😳🐕
Monthly sign is officially up for the July 19th Pay It Forward Card Show. 💥🐕
Bringing this thing to another level. Brick by brick. Show by show. No shortcuts. No quicksand.
July 19th. Leominster Elks. 9AM–2PM.
The Road Dog is always grinding. 😈💥✌🏻🐕
What a journey. 💥
Entirely grateful for the people and organizations I’ve crossed paths with along the way.
I coached for Fredo Weiland and Pinstripes Sports Dreams Foundation. I volunteered at Payomet Performing Arts Center in Truro, Mass. My son played hockey against the Columbus Ice Hockey Club, and through that journey I became friends with its founder, John Haferman.
Why am I bringing this up?
Because all three started at the bottom and built something BRICK BY BRICK. 🧱
And building brick by brick means one thing… you get your butt kicked damn near every day.
Here’s where people lose me. Too many spend their time speaking negatively about the people who are already ahead of them. They watch. They criticize. They pick apart every move.
The top 1 percenters do something different.
They pay attention. They ask questions. They listen. They learn from the people who have already taken the punches.
I’ve FAILED and FAILED. I’ve had my butt kicked more times than I can count. But somewhere along the way I learned to stop looking sideways and start studying the people who actually built something.
You can talk about them… or you can learn from them.
I chose to learn.
BRICK BY BRICK. 🧱
Kapisch? 😈💥✌🏻🐕
entered this space a little over 3 years ago and started walking shows—handing out brochures, shaking hands, meeting people, and building a contact list while promoting the very first Pay It Forward Card Show, which went down in February 2024.
It’s been an amazing ride—but make no mistake, it’s been a grind for sure. 💥
This s**t takes time.
Some people build empires on quicksand. Looks great for a minute, but eventually the ground underneath it can’t sustain the weight.
Others build like the pyramids were built in Egypt. Brick by brick. Patient. Deliberate. Built to stand the test of time. 🧱
A lot of patience along the way. Staying in my lane. Doing the work. Not reacting to the noise coming from the cheap seats.
Bottom line…
If Rome were built in a day, I would’ve hired their contractor. 🤷🏼♂️😂💥✌🏻🐕
