As we head into Memorial Day Weekend, I'm celebrating Dr. Margaret "Mom" Chung - the first American-born Chinese woman to become a doctor.
However, she is most well known for the thousand of adopted "sons," soldiers she supported in the Sino-Japanese War and World War II.

Healthcare is a human right that should not be determined by your zip code.
Community health centers were born out of the Civil Right Movement, ensuring that access to culturally-responsive care was accessible in under-resourced communities, from inner cities to rural villages.
On May 7, I joined my colleagues at Family Health Center of Worcester for Healthy Ever After, which uplifts community resilience through storytelling and art.
The room was filled with individuals who are committed to preserving healthcare as a fundamental right despite the government's attempts to determine who deserves care and what services are considered valid. We raised over $70,000 from sponsors and individual donors, but also inspired a community to continuously re-commit and deepen their support of their neighbors.
My grants management work at FHCW is a core part of my portfolio career and lifelong commitment to equity and authentic inclusion. It was a privilege to share that spirit with others during Healthy Ever After.
