Finishing my latest piece. After 4 coats of Golden’s spray Gloss Varnish, I finish with a layer of cold wax to help retain the matte finish on non gold areas and to protect the piece. This helps retain the contrast between the shine of the gold and the matte of the painted and collaged areas. When the cold wax dries, I will buff the piece to give those areas a very subtle sheen.
