1 Hour Setter Training Session

The only thing missing is the 100 balls set to the outside and the 100 balls set to the right side before we got into the drills.

The extra antennas are set up to give him instant feedback about his set location. They’re quite wide right now as it was his first time but as we get into it the spacing will get less and less. You can barely see it here but there is also a pad on the ground indicating if the ball was set too tight, as that was one of his problem areas.

He doesn’t get the set unless he successfully digs the ball out of the net, prioritizing taking care of the ball first.

And yes, before you internet coaches tell me to tell him to stop backpedaling, he knows. That’s why we practice and drill. No matter how much you practice without the ball, things change when you introduce a live ball.
