Wisco River Rentals

After a great few years on the water, we have made the difficult decision not to open Wisco River Rentals for the 2026 season.

Unfortunately, despite an extensive search, we were unable to find insurance coverage at a reasonable rate for our small family-run business. The best option available was nearly 4 times what we had previously been paying. Combined with rising fuel and operating costs, continuing to operate would have required significant price increases — something that never aligned with the affordable, family-friendly experience we wanted Wisco River Rentals to provide.

We are incredibly thankful for everyone who supported Wisco River Rentals over the years. It has been so rewarding to help visitors, families, and groups enjoy time on the water and experience everything the Wisconsin River has to offer. We’ve always taken pride in operating in a safe and responsible way, and we truly appreciate all of the support, referrals, and memories shared with us through this journey.

While we are unsure what the future may hold, we may explore opportunities again down the road if circumstances change.

Wisco River Rentals

We wanted to share a quick update with everyone as we head into summer.

Unfortunately, our insurance carrier recently decided not to renew our policy on very short notice. We want to reassure everyone that this was not due to any accidents, claims, or safety issues. We have operated safely and responsibly since starting our business and are proud to say we have had no claims or incidents.

We are currently working through the process of securing new coverage, which has become increasingly challenging for many small recreational rental businesses.

While we finalize things, we have temporarily paused bookings. We are hopeful to have answers soon and are doing everything we can to get back on the water for the season.

We truly appreciate all of the support our small family business has received over the past few years, and we’ll continue to keep everyone updated.
