Who you are (The Mind), What you are, and Who you can be

Please consider for yourself whether you see this as true for you about you in your own life...

*** Who You Are ***

There are features of your brain that combine to express as the most automatic and dumbest aspects of your mind. The ways in which the dumbest aspects of your mind live your life as who you are (while what you are is not paying attention) are:

• You come to believe that you are your understandings, your beliefs, your feelings, and who you think you are

• You crave to be known as you are who you believe you are

• You crave looking good (enough) to others (and so also to yourself)

• You crave approval and agreement and validation

• You crave certainty

• You crave being right

• You presume that everything (that matters to you) can be (over-)simplified enough to be known and understood by you

• You presume that you can know just enough regarding topics to be certain of their scope and importance—so much so that you are blinded to the novelty of how much you don't realize that you don't know about topics

• You have an Always-Already Listening of others and of all information you hear

• and—

—Perhaps, the most insidious automatic responses you have to new information are—

• When how you feel and what you've been suspicious or cynical about seems to be validated regarding "the others" or you feel betrayed by others, first you experience such new information as evidence of your righteousness
• Then next, your sense of righteousness peaks
• and your validation of (and sometimes blinded devotion to) also peaks intensely and dramatically in favor of those who oppose the others whom you are righteously blaming or shaming

• These expressions often lead to your involvement in group-level factions

*** What You Are ***

What you (actually) are:

• Awareness about all that has been described above

• Possibility

• Greatly and utterly ignorant

• Vulnerable

• Choice

• Creativity

• Relatability

*** Who You Can Be ***

You can grant yourself the grace of responsibility for who you are and what you are. You can be the player. You can be the game.

*** So what?! ***

Are you now more empowered? Are you open to deeper discoveries about who and what you are? Who are you now? Who are "they" to you now?
