Making Me Too
The year we renovated we didn’t have floors or a kitchen and shared one old dirty broken bathroom. There were literal giant holes in the exterior walls enclosed with plywood or tarps and most interior walls were just the framing. I remember being so stressed that year that I was robbing my kids of the magic of the holidays and normalcy of life. This video was Christmas morning and you know what wasn’t missing? ✨love✨. The kids didn’t care that it wasn’t perfect and we could still celebrate whether my home was “aesthetic” or not.
It may not be renovating. It may be something else for you. But if you’re in a season of life where circumstances aren’t ideal and you’re worried you can’t make the holidays the way you envision or how they’ve always looked or felt or tasted… I just want to encourage you- because I’ve been there and I am there.
The Lord still came. His presence still saturates the air of a messy house or circumstance. Your family and those you love are still the blessing of the season. Time is the gift. True holiday magic isn’t the pressure of it being yours to create, but more so the invite for you to acknowledge it already there. ❤️
