When monitoring patients with pacemakers in the MRI suite, the possibility of induced heating is a known risk with conductive or active implants. Due to this known risk, following implant labeling, positioning accessories as outlined in the 3880 MRI Patient Monitoring System’s Operation Manual (REF1200 Rev. 2B, March 2026) and using SpO₂ as the heart rate source are critical steps to support patient safety.
Understanding the importance of SpO₂ on every patient requiring monitoring in the MRI, Iradimed uniquely chose Masimo SET™️ technology, a gold standard in performance, as our pulse oximetry partner. This technology allows clinicians to confidently monitor heart rate using an accurate and reliable signal throughout the MRI exam with a non-conductive fiber optic sensor.
Additionally, when ECG is used on pacemaker patients, the Iradimed 3880 MRI Patient Monitor delivers unmatched flexibility with an industry exclusive 5-lead ECG, maintaining the same standard of care common in the cardiology department. As with any ECG lead wires used in MRI, never place a conductive patient monitoring accessory directly over conductive and/or active implants due to the possibility of forming RF loops which may lead to RF heating.
In complex MRI environments (especially with pacemaker patients) confidence in your patient monitoring equipment truly matters. Iradimed ensures you don’t have to choose between safety, flexibility, and performance.

What if you never had to disrupt an MRI just to adjust an infusion again? ⁉️
Complete control from the safety of Zone 3 changes everything. With a wireless remote, clinicians can adjust infusion settings in real time — no waiting between sequences, no stopping scans, and no compromising workflow. Gone are the days of delaying an MRI because the necessary equipment isn’t available or because a critically ill patient can’t pause continuous infusions. 👏
Those delays aren’t just inconvenient — they can postpone diagnosis, treatment decisions, and discharge timelines, increasing both risk and cost across the board.
When technology removes barriers, care moves faster, safer, and smarter. 👍

This isn’t just a slogan—it’s a responsibility.
As we recognize , we’re reminded of the critical importance of maintaining the highest safety standards in and around the MRI environment. The heartbreaking incident last week in Long Island, where a man tragically lost his life during an MRI procedure, is a sobering call to action for all of us in the medical imaging field.
MRI safety protocols aren’t optional—they save lives.
Let this week be more than just awareness. Let it drive education, vigilance, and change.
