📣 2025 IRS E-File Shutdown & Bank Product Deadlines

The IRS has officially announced the 2025 e-file shutdown schedule — and this year, the shutdown for Individual and ALL Business returns is permanently aligned.
These dates apply to ALL tax pros nationwide.

🛑 IRS E-FILE SHUTDOWN (1040 & ALL BUSINESS RETURNS)

Friday, December 26, 2025
at 11:59 a.m. Eastern Time (midday)
After this cutoff, no e-file transmissions will be accepted.

🏦 BANK PRODUCT FINAL ACCEPTANCE DEADLINES (2025)

📅 Last day: Friday, November 21, 2025

📅 Last day: Sunday, November 30, 2025

⚠️ After these deadlines:
You can still e-file returns, but ONLY with direct deposit or paper check — NO bank products will be accepted by banks after their cutoff dates.

📌 ACTION ITEMS BEFORE THANKSGIVING

To avoid rejected or non-fundable bank-product returns, please complete the following:

✔ Submit all bank-product returns before your bank’s cutoff date
✔ Notify your clients who selected bank products about earlier deadlines
✔ Prepare for December returns — these must be filed without bank products
