STATE BUDGET AND TRIAD HBCUS:

With Governor Stein signing the $34 billion dollar budget into law, we're going to soon see some money coming to our Triad Historically Black Universities!

Winston-Salem State University will receive close to 45 MILLION DOLLARS from the state. According to University officials, the money will be used to do the following:

-Expand a scholarship program
-Upgrade Eller and Pegram Halls--
-Complete KR Williams Auditorium.
WSSU's Chancellor says this funding shows the university's commitment to serving its students and growing the state's workforce.

The state budget also includes funding for North Carolina A&T State University!!
The University will receive more than 10 million dollars, to help it achieve R1 status.
That would make the university an institution with very high research activity.
