A Heartfelt Thank You to the Strube Family....

The Town of Windermere extends its deepest gratitude to the Strube Family for adopting a Windermere Legacy Bench. David and Denise Strube have called Windermere home since the 1960s, both attending the original Windermere Elementary School—now the Police Department. Their children, Dillon and Darcy, were proudly raised here and continued the tradition at WES. Today, two of their grandsons represent the third generation of Strubes to walk those same halls, carrying forward a beautiful family legacy.

The Strubes’ memories paint a vivid picture of “old Windermere”: grabbing a Vanilla Coke at Johnnie’s Country Store, picking out penny candy from Parramore’s Gas Station, and watching the train rumble through town before stopping at the Ready Market for a soda. And of course, nothing beats summertime spent on our lakes—memories that define what makes this town so special. "Windermere has been, and continues to be, the perfect place to grow up and raise a family."

Thank you, Strube Family, for your decades of love for this community and for helping preserve its story for generations to come.
