It is always a really special day when our Adult Leadership Barrow class has the opportunity to show off their industry to our Youth Leadership Barrow students🧡 During Wednesday’s Industry Day, our young leaders had the opportunity to visit a wide variety of careers with stops at Stepan (a chemical plant), Akins Ford (our local car dealership who happens to be the #1 Ford dealer in the world), and our Georgia National Guard base here in Barrow County! From donning hard hats as they learned the importance of chemicals in our modern world to sitting in a helicopter used in real life missions, there was so much to explore.

Special thank you to the following Adult Leadership Barrow champions who helped make this day possible:

Heath Davis, Class of 2025
Miranda Deaton, Class of 2023
Chase Harris, Class of 2026
Lydia Huff, Class of 2025
Tywanda Jackson, Class of 2020
Tanner Maloof, Class of 2024
Clay McElhannon, Class of 2024
Will Schroth, Class of 2026

🌟 Impact Project Announcement 🌟

Impact Projects are a long-standing tradition of the Leadership Barrow program. They are a way to give back to the community that has inspired so many leaders within our county borders! In the past, there have been blessing boxes built, building spaces revitalized for continued use, a whole porch and landscaping built, and so much more. These special projects have left a deep impact on the organizations who have benefited from them, and it was important to the Class of 2026 to continue this tradition.

After the day we spent visiting so many wonderful non-profits here in Barrow County, our class had a hard time picking one sole need to focus on, especially when we have so many leaders ready and willing to help! As a result, we identified four special organizations that have frequent visitors or residents. For our impact project, we are proud to announce that we will be focusing on revitalizing their outdoor spaces through painting, landscaping, signage, and more!

To help raise funds for this endeavor, we're excited to announce our Leadership Barrow Multi-Draw Raffle featuring a wide variety of prizes from our community partners! On March 18th, during our Leadership Barrow session, we will go live via our page to draw for winners. The gift card will be drawn first, and the baskets will be drawn after that. Every ticket is a chance to win any of the items in the prize list!

To purchase tickets, please see a member of the Class of 2026 or pay via the link below (make sure you put your name and contact info in the note section!).
