So it looks like the sale has gone through. It was mowed yesterday and is currently still open. Elections are coming up, let’s see which candidates will work to add some green space in our community.

I have been wondering what days are open to the public at Lower Howard’s Creek. It is a nature preserve close to the Kentucky River and you can access the John Holder trail at Hall’s on the River restaurant on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-1

Tadpoles in the upper pond. Unfortunately the plans show that this pond will be filled in for the Publix grocery store

Many people say, “no one ever uses that green space, it’s a waste of land”. Well even if humans are not using it, the animals are. This little bunny has a home under the bridge at the Traveling Trail.

Tonight at the Traveling Trail, so many people walking, running, a little girl learning how to do cartwheels, a couple taking spring photos of their toddler, happy dogs and their owners walking on grass. We NEED GREENSPACE! People crave it! Please contact our mayor, ask her what is she doing to secure more areas like this one that we are losing. Contact the Greater Clark Foundation and ask them if they will be moving the trail. Let’s work together so our community can be healthier. 💕
What kind of trails do you prefer? Dirt/grass or paved? In an open area or a wooded area?
Let's share some ideas.
1-Where could a trail be added in Clark County?
2-Do you know anyone that would donate land for a trail?
3-What kind of trail do you prefer? Paved, grass, open area, wooded?
Currently in Wi******er, only 3% of our land is designated for parks compared to 15% as the National average. This includes the Wi******er Traveling Trail even though it is not part of Parks and Recreation but owned by the Greater Clark Foundation. We will be even further behind after this trail closes. This website shows our park system and where we are lacking parks for equal access.
