Join our host Andrew Celentano, for an interesting interview with Sharon Chen, an accomplished pianist and composer. She studied violin at the Eastman School of Music and graduated from Harvard with degrees in both Music and East Asian Languages and Civilizations. Learn how she persevered even though she had a serious health problem, where she could have potentially lost some of her hearing. Her songs depict nostalgia and themes of darkness evolving into light. She blends her classical background with different genres including electronic and jazz. You can find her works on my Bandcamp, One World Music Radio, Soundcloud, Spotify Twitter and YouTube. You can find many videos on Facebook featuring her playing. She has over 2.7 million Spotify streams to date.

Time & Location
Apr 18, 7:00 PM EDT

Join Museum Director Joseph Manas as he explores the historic role of the French Cable Station. Learn how the first cable crossed the ocean in 1869 and landed in St. Pierre-Miquelon, a small island complex just south of Newfoundland, owned by France. In 1898 a new direct cable was laid to New York City from here thus completing a link between New York and France. These cables carried important world news to Europe and the United States as well as financial transactions from Paris Bourse and the New York Stock Exchange.
