Our team at HCS would like to wish you a safe and happy Labor Day!

Labor Day pays tribute to the contributions and achievements of American workers. It was created by the labor movement in the late 19th century and became a federal holiday in 1894.

While Labor Day weekend symbolizes the end of summer for many Americans and is celebrated with parties, street parades, and athletic events, we need to remember that the origin of this holiday was one of suffering and discord. Our team at HCS hopes you join us by taking a moment to be grateful for those who worked hard to bring fairness to the workforce. May we honor and pay tribute to all the contributions, achievements, and sacrifices made by the American worker.

Today is National Flag Day! Did you know...

National Flag Day falls on June 14th because on this day in 1777, the Second Continental Congress took a break from writing the Articles of Confederation to pass a resolution approving the design for the first national flag. Over a century later, President Woodrow Wilson officially established the anniversary of the Stars and Stripes as Flag Day.

Here are some ways you can celebrate today and every day.
1) Display your flag properly in a prominent location
2) Take time to brush up on your knowledge of the flag, including its long history and what it represents
3) Visit a veteran’s memorial or U.S. history museum
4) Attend local parades or other gatherings to commemorate this day

Happy Flag Day!
