🇫🇷 ANDREA CHÉNIER REVIEW | 🇫🇷

A few things David Shengold wrote about our Andrea Chénier:
🇫🇷 “ brought some fine qualities to Chénier’s marathon role: youthful sincerity, ease on top, willingness to shade the more poetic music with varied dynamics.”
🇫🇷 “The rising veristically attuned soprano was a splendid Maddalena, attractive and emotionally compelling in sound and presence throughout.”
🇫🇷 “.moon.baritone’s baritone, with easy, marbled top notes, sounded voluminous in this hall. He shaped Gérard’s music and text very well.”

Thank you, David, thank you, Opera Magazine!

He’s performed at , at major European houses, and on stages across the world. His family is from Philadelphia, and on July 23, he comes to Delaware for Echoes of Freedom.

Some of the highlights of the program include Justin singing “Ride On, King Jesus”, a tribute to Paul Robeson (“Ol’ Man River”), Porgy, Price’s “Monologue for the Working Class”, Weill’s “Lost in the Stars”, and “Some Enchanted Evening”.

From spirituals to Rodgers + Hammerstein, Justin brings his “sensational” bass-baritone to this semiquincentennial celebration.
