I just got back from a Sales and Marketing Conference — not an IT event, but a room full of general business owners and leaders. AI was everywhere. Vendors were demoing automation tools. Sessions covered using agents like Claude to build internal workflows and marketing content.

Three full days. Not a single conversation about AI security.

That concerns me.

Here's what I want business owners and managers to understand:

AI itself is not dangerous. You should absolutely be exploring how to bring it into your business — the efficiency gains are real, and falling behind isn't an option.

But the way you deploy and configure AI? That part carries serious risk.

If your business has compliance requirements or operates in a regulated industry, a misconfigured AI implementation isn't just an IT problem — it could be catastrophic. Data exposure, regulatory violations, and liability don't care how good your intentions were.

The good news: secure AI deployment isn't out of reach. It just requires intentionality.
