We named our business Sprouting Design…

We just didn’t expect the sign to take it so seriously. 🌿😂

Thanks to one of our amazing homeowners for sending us this picture. It absolutely made our day❤️

A big part of what we do happens long before construction ever begins.

Sometimes it looks like standing in a client’s kitchen, surrounded by samples, sketches, and a hundred little decisions that will eventually become one cohesive space.

It’s the planning, the problem-solving, and the countless design decisions that happen behind the scenes. Thinking through the layout, selecting materials, and making sure every detail works together before demo starts helps the construction phase run more smoothly.

Good design isn’t just about how a space looks—it’s about creating a plan that functions well from start to finish. It’s the quieter part of the process, but it’s what lays the foundation for everything that follows. 🤍

POV: A normal day at Sprouting Design. ☕️🛠️

Coffee first (because I’m not a morning person 😅).

Then it’s site visits, new drawings, checking details... measuring something 50 times because my “girl math” somehow always works out in the end. (Because Jack always ends up fixing it for me😂)

The funny thing about renovations? You never really know what’s hiding behind the walls until they’re open. Every project comes with a few surprises, which means every project also comes with a chance to problem-solve, pivot, and make it even better.

That’s the part we actually love.

Today’s clips are a little glimpse into the process—and stick around for the last photo... this project is almost ready for the big reveal, and we can’t wait to show you the finished space. 🤍

I have a deeply rooted (and completely biased... but also somehow unbiased 😅) obsession with JuJu’s Basics and the woman behind it, Judith.

What started as a necessity—creating skincare products she could actually use because of her own sensitivities and allergies—has grown into an incredible business built on intentionality, hard work, and genuine care for people.
I started working for Judith shortly after Jack and I got married over 8 years ago (which still feels wild to say), and getting a front-row seat to her business has been such a gift.

Fun fact: Judith was the one who announced my pregnancy with MJ on social media. 😂 That’s probably the best indication of how woven into my life she’s been through the big moments, the hard seasons, and everything in between over the years.

She makes everything in small batches, cares deeply about the quality of every product, and somehow manages to make every customer feel valued and cared for. More than that, she runs her business with so much kindness, integrity, and grace.

As a fellow small business owner now, I have even more appreciation for what she’s built. The long hours, the countless decisions, and all the behind-the-scenes work that no one sees—and she does it while genuinely putting people first.
If you’ve ever received a gift from me that included skincare, it probably came from JuJu’s Basics. It’s a business I love supporting, a product line I genuinely use, and a founder I admire tremendously.

Small business owner goals, honestly. 🤍

LOCAL FAVORITE 🥨🤍

If you’ve ever received a gift from us, there’s a good chance it included something from

We love supporting local businesses that put as much care into their work as we do, and Croftons is definitely one of those places.

What we love:
✨ All the pretzels. Our girls always get the hot dog pretzels, while Jack and I have a constantly rotating list of favorites. Reach out if you want our recommendations. 😉😂
✨ The mustard selection. My dad and I are convinced we’re pretzel-and-mustard connoisseurs at this point.
✨ The food, the beer, and the people. The owners and employees are some of the kindest around, and it’s one of those places that keeps us coming back.

We’re frequent fliers here—not just because everything is delicious, but because they’ve created a place that feels welcoming and community-focused.

If you’re looking for a thoughtful local gift, a great meal, or just an excuse to treat yourself to a really good pretzel, they’re definitely worth checking out.

There’s a pretty good chance you’ll run into one of us while you’re there. 🥨🤍

One of the unexpected gifts of getting into pottery has been the community that came with it.

It all started with Jess and the beautiful space she’s created through her pottery and yoga studio -What began as a creative outlet/hobby quickly introduced me to some incredibly talented makers, including and , and I’m so grateful for the friendships and inspiration that have come from it.

There is something special about a handmade piece that tells a story. Whether it’s a favorite mug you reach for every morning or a serving bowl that becomes part of family gatherings, these pieces are made to be used, loved, and enjoyed for years.

As someone who appreciates both design and craftsmanship, I’m always drawn to makers who pour so much of themselves into what they create. Jess, Kristen, and Kate each have their own unique style, but what they share is an incredible talent, a commitment to their craft, and a genuine passion for creating beautiful things.

What I love most is that this little pottery community is about so much more than ceramics. It’s about creativity, connection, encouragement, and supporting one another along the way.

We’re so fortunate to have talented makers like these in our community, and their work is definitely worth following, supporting, and sharing. 🤍

8 years ago, we got married.

Since then, we’ve renovated houses, started a business, in process of raising a family, solved a lot of problems & probably discussed kitchen layouts more than any ‘normal’ couple should. 😅

What started with renovating our own home turned into helping others create homes that fit their lives- we’re so thankful for the people who’ve been part of that journey.

Happy 8th Anniversary, Jack. Thanks for being my favorite person to build a life—and a business with. ❤️

One of the things that makes a house feel like home is meaningful art.

We’ve loved following & supporting because her pieces bring so much warmth, personality & beauty into a space.

As someone who spends a lot of time helping homeowners create homes that reflect who they are I have such an appreciation for artists who tell stories through their work & capture the beauty of the place we are so lucky to call home.

We are incredibly fortunate to have so many talented creatives in our community - she’s definitely one worth following, supporting, and sharing. 🤍

Before → After ✨

This transformation wasn’t about starting from scratch—it was about making smarter use of what was already here.

By reworking the floor plan, relocating existing cabinetry, and refreshing the finishes, we were able to create a kitchen that feels more open, functional, and connected to the way this family lives.

Sometimes the biggest impact comes from rethinking the layout, not replacing everything.

Thoughtful design. Intentional changes. A space that works better every day.
