Meet 2026 College Unbound student, Jazzmine Harmon! πŸ™Œ

After receiving a breast cancer diagnosis and supporting her mother and grandmother through the same disease, Jazzmine believed that a college degree was out of reach while balancing treatment, family, and work. But through her battle with cancer and depression, Jazzmine emerged with a renewed determination and sense of purpose.

🎀 β€œIt put this fight in me that made me determined to one day put that cap and gown on and walk across the stage for my parents, students I teach, everyone who has been there for me through all this over the past few years, and most importantly, myself.”

For her core project, Jazzmine is developing β€œTransitions,” a performing arts program centered around mental health and creative expression. Inspired by the impact of performing arts on her own life, she aims to create opportunities for participants to pursue creative paths they may not otherwise have access to. Core components include dance, songwriting, music production, photography, and mental health programming. 🎨🎭

Join us in cheering Jazzmine on as she pursues her College Unbound bachelor’s degree! πŸŽ“
