If All of You Will Put Your Nets
Into The Water
You Will Catch Some Fish.
Jesus Chooses Some Followers
Luke 5:1–11
1 As Jesus stood beside Lake Galilee,[a] a crowd of people pushed to get closer to him and to hear the teachings of God.
2 Jesus saw two boats at the shore of the lake. The fishermen were washing their nets.
3 Jesus got into the boat that belonged to Simon. He asked Simon to push off a little from the shore. Then he sat down in the boat and taught the people on the shore.
4 When Jesus finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Take the boat into the deep water. If all of you will put your nets into the water, you will catch some fish.”
5 Simon answered, “Master, we worked hard all night trying to catch fish and caught nothing. But you say I should put the nets into the water, so I will.”
6 The fishermen put their nets into the water. Their nets were filled with so many fish that they began to break.
7 They called to their friends in the other boat to come and help them. The friends came, and both boats were filled so full of fish that they were almost sinking.
8-9 The fishermen were all amazed at the many fish they caught. When Simon Peter saw this, he bowed down before Jesus and said, “Go away from me, Lord. I am a sinful man!”
10 James and John, the sons of Zebedee, were amazed too. (James and John worked together with Simon.)Jesus said to Simon, “Don’t be afraid. From now on your work will be to bring in people, not fish!”
11 The men brought their boats to the shore. They left everything and followed Jesus.

Give All Your Worries and Cares To God

God Didn’t Give Us A Cowardly Spirit
But a spirit of power...love...and good judgment.
2 Timothy 1:6-14 (NLT)
6 This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you.
7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.
8 So never be ashamed to tell others about our Lord. And don’t be ashamed of me, either, even though I’m in prison for him. With the strength God gives you, be ready to suffer with me for the sake of the Good News.
9 For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from before the beginning of time—to show us his grace through Christ Jesus.
10 And now he has made all of this plain to us by the appearing of Christ Jesus, our Savior. He broke the power of death and illuminated the way to life and immortality through the Good News.
11 And God chose me to be a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher of this Good News.
12 That is why I am suffering here in prison. But I am not ashamed of it, for I know the one in whom I trust, and I am sure that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until the day of his return.
13 Hold on to the pattern of wholesome teaching you learned from me—a pattern shaped by the faith and love that you have in Christ Jesus.
14 Through the power of the Holy Spirit who lives within us, carefully guard the precious truth that has been entrusted to you.
1.God has not given us the spirit of fear.
2.But the spirit of power, of courage and resolution.
3.To meet difficulties and dangers.
4.The spirit of love to him...which will carry us through opposition.
5.And the spirit of a sound mind...quietness of mind.
6.The Holy Spirit is not the author of a timid or cowardly disposition...or of slavish fears.
7.We are likely to bear afflictions well.
8.When we have strength and power from God to enable us to bear them.
