PUBLIC INFORMATION: FIRE RESTRICTIONS

We've received several questions regarding the recent increase in Fire Protection Level by the U.S. Forest Service- Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest.

It is important to understand that U.S. Forest Service restrictions apply only to lands protected and managed by the U.S. Forest Service. They do not automatically apply to private residential properties within the Williams Valley.

Most private lands and residences in our area fall under the protection of the Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF). As a result, residents should continue to follow the current ODF fire season restrictions, which remain in effect for private property.

If you are planning activities such as equipment use, mowing, welding, or recreational campfires, please refer to the current ODF restrictions applicable to your property location.

We encourage everyone to remain vigilant and practice fire-safe behaviors as conditions continue to dry across Southern Oregon.
