☀️ Summer Safety Starts with Connection ☀️

At South Central Mental Health Early Intervention Centers, summer learning is about more than just fun—it’s also about helping children build important safety skills through meaningful experiences and strong relationships.

Throughout the summer, our preschool classrooms are incorporating age-appropriate summer safety lessons into daily activities, including:
💧 Water safety
☀️ Sun safety
🚲 Outdoor and playground safety
🚗 Car and parking lot safety
👫 Safe choices in the community

Using Conscious Discipline principles, we focus on teaching children through connection, modeling, and problem-solving rather than fear or punishment. When children feel safe, connected, and supported, they are more likely to learn and apply important safety skills in everyday situations.

Our goal is to create learning experiences that are engaging, hands-on, and developmentally appropriate while strengthening emotional regulation, communication, and decision-making skills.
