The Arts Council of Wichita is proud to partner with the Kansas African American Museum to present Preserves: A Kansas Story a staged reading of an original screenplay by Micah Ariel Watson.

This compelling work invites audiences into a story of love, legacy, and hidden history, while reflecting the power of the arts to preserve cultural memory and deepen community understanding. We’re honored to support programming that uplifts regional voices and creates space for meaningful connection through storytelling.
