This was one of the stops I was most looking forward to. I have cousins who lived in Herington years ago and loved it. I had a blast in the park and I’m so grateful for everyone who came out! I will be back to pick up my baby goat Pedro!

Day 5 of the Summer Road Trip:

- Hutchinson: 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. Broadcasting “Kansas Today” from Scuttlebutts at The Clayworks (1125 N. Main St.)

- Moundridge: 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. at The Hub Brick Oven and Brewery (100 S. Christian Ave.)
Perks: Free drip coffee and breakfast pizza

- Marquette: 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Smoky Valley Distillery (105 N. Washington St.)

- Herington: 1:45 to 2:45 p.m. at Father Juan de Padilla Park (501 Broadway)
Perks: The city is offering a free swim at the pool; the city and Atmos Energy will provide free hot dogs; and Visit Herington will offer the following in partnership with various sponsors: water, dirty sodas, yard games, a raffle, disc toss game, Art in the Park and Snow Barn.

- El Dorado: 4 to 6:30 p.m. at Kansas Veterans Festival at Veterans Point at El Dorado Lake, where we will livestream on KSN+ at 5 p.m. and broadcast KSN News at 6.
