We are proud to highlight our students in action as they complete their field experiences through the SPIRSS (School Psychology Partnerships to Increase Rural School-Based Services) grant.
Through this initiative, our graduate students are gaining hands-on experience delivering school-based mental health and behavioral services in high-need and rural districts. Under close supervision, they are applying evidence-based practices, conducting assessments, supporting interventions, and making a meaningful impact on students, families, and school communities.
SPIRSS reflects our commitment to preparing highly skilled, practice-ready professionals while expanding access to critical services where they are needed most. We are incredibly proud of the dedication, professionalism, and growth our students demonstrate in the field every day.

๐ Celebrating Our Students at NASP 2026
Weโre proud of our three SPIRSS Graduate Research Assistants who presented their work at NASP 2026 and represented our program with professionalism and dedication. The photos also highlight the strong presence of our program, including clinical faculty member Jacy Krsmanovic and other students who attended the conference.
A special recognition goes to Morgan McCosh, who served as the graduate student organization president for the past two years and played an important role in revitalizing the organization after COVID, rebuilding student engagement and leadership in the program.
As these students transition into their field experiences this fall, we thank them for their contributions as GRAs and look forward to seeing their continued growth as they work toward graduation in Spring 2027.
๐ Congratulations on representing the program so well!

Our SPIRSS scholars, current and alumni, had the opportunity to participate in the "Comprehensive Approach for Addressing Problem Behavior Workshop" with Dr. Greg Hanley, hosted by Heartspring in Wichita.
Students spent two days deepening their understanding of contemporary, evidence-based practices in Practical Functional Assessment and Skill-Based Treatment. We are committed to ensuring that our students receive training aligned with the highest standards in the field.
Thank you to Dr. Hanley for an exceptional workshop, and to Heartspring for supporting professional development in our community.

๐ Fall Fun with GASP! ๐
Our School Psychology graduate students took a well-deserved break from studying to enjoy some fall festivities at the pumpkin patch! It was a great opportunity to connect, relax, and celebrate the season together.
Building community outside the classroom is an important part of our programโand what better way to do it than with pumpkins, laughter, and good company? ๐๐ค
