It was a great day for the students in the criminal justice program at WSU Tech. Students from the college along with several students from our high school partners at South, Eisenhower, and Goddard all competed at the Skills USA Kansas State Championship in Hutchinson, bringing home some hardware in the process. I couldn’t be more proud of these students and the dedication they have shown preparing for this competition. Several of these students have even been spending extra time at the college outside their regular set classroom time practicing for this event. I would like to thank our instructors at South, Eisenhower, and Goddard for all their hard work in helping these students get ready for the events. I would also like to thank the Wichita Police Department for all their hard work in setting up the competition.

Another successful private security training class at WSU Tech. For those that didn’t know we offer a 48-hour certification course for private security officers. The course covers a wide range of topics including use of force, civil liability, workplace violence, and many more. Classes run 5:30pm - 9:30pm Monday - Thursday for three weeks. Our instructors are all current or retired certified law enforcement officers with a great deal of experience and expertise in the world of private security.
