Minisa Bridge Update:

The City of Wichita has contracted with Wildcat Construction Co., Inc. to perform rehabilitation work on the Minisa Bridge.

A public information meeting for the project will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at the Evergreen Community Center and Library located at 2601 North Arkansas.

This project will perform bridge rehabilitation repairs on the Minisa Bridge. Repairs will be made to the brick driving surface, lighting, structural concrete, and graffiti mitigation and repairs to the decorative concrete.

Starting in July, 13th Street North will be fully closed at the bridge. Traffic will be detoured utilizing McLean, 21st Street North, and Waco Avenue. 13th Street will remain open to local traffic from Waco to Bitting for access to local businesses and North High School. Prior to the start of the USD 2026-2027 school year, the bridge will be opened to pedestrian traffic only, with an anticipated opening to vehicular traffic in September. Electronic
message signs will notify motorists in advance of any closures.
