Today is extra special for our chimpanzee troop because it’s World Chimpanzee Day AND Moshi’s 31st birthday! 🧡

Moshi is a familiar face to many of our guests, and today we’re celebrating the big personality and presence he brings to the troop.

Celebrated annually on July 14, World Chimpanzee Day marks the day in 1960 when Dr. Jane Goodall first arrived at Gombe Stream National Park in Tanzania. The day honors chimpanzees, our closest living relatives, while raising awareness for their conservation, welfare, and endangered status.

Please join us in wishing Moshi a very happy 31st birthday and celebrating this remarkable species! 🎉

There's a new set of hooves on the ground in the American bison habitat! 🦬

This morning, a male bison calf was born to Jade and Thunder. Mom and calf are both doing well, and guests may be able to spot the newest member of the herd from the overlook.

If you’re visiting for Twilight Tuesday or First Responders Day today, it’s the perfect chance to stop by and see him. Admission is just $10 or FREE for first responders - and the Zoo is open until 8:30pm!

Stay tuned for an update announcing his name! 🧡

Ezra is here to remind you that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. 🥣

Black-and-white colobus monkeys are specialized herbivores. Unlike other monkeys, colobus monkeys have complex, multi-chambered stomachs that help them break down fibrous and toxic foliage.🌿

Special thanks to Keeper Lexie D. for capturing this leafy moment.
